About 19 percent of people are born while Mercury is retrograde, based on how often it moved backward between 1950 and 2030, so it is common. Astrologers read a natal Mercury retrograde as a reflective mind: you may think before you speak, revisit ideas until they feel right or notice details others skip.

It doesn't mean you communicate badly. Many writers, researchers and careful thinkers have Mercury retrograde in their charts.
